Reatreat 2008 - inspire.create.respond with Dan Wilt
October retreat registration is open
Join us for inspire.create.respond facilitated by Dan Wilt October 2-4, 2008 We are in the dog days of summer, but fall isn't far away. Now is the perfect time time to register for this fall's Worship Leader's retreat for the Western Region, October 2-4. We'd like to invite you to RETREAT 2008, a weekend focused on creativity in music and songwriting, and finding inspiration from the source of creativity, the Holy Spirit. This year's facilitator, Dan Wilt, is the Director of the Institute Of Contemporary & Emerging Worship Studies in partnership with St. Stephen's University in St. Stephen, New Brunswick, and is an internationally respected communicator, worship leader, songwriter, author and trainer. Based out of St. Stephen's University in New Brunswick, Canada, Dan's passion is to further the Kingdom plot in this generation.Linking the wisdom of the ancients with the present chapter of the Story we live out today, his passion is to expand the worship world-view of the existing and emerging Church - inviting engagement with God and culture on all creative levels. Dan was one of the teachers and worship leaders for the National Worship Leaders Retreat at Estes Park, Colorado in January, and he brought a fantastic message this year. If you would like to read Dan's blog and find out more about him, visit http://www.danwilt.com. THE SETTING Retreat 2008 will take place at the beautiful La Casa de Maria Conference and Retreat Center. Their facility can be found at the end of a windi ng lane canopied in dense foliage leading from the Upper Village in Montecito. Set in a secret garden, guarded by woodlands and the tumbling waters of the San Ysidro Creek, its ambience is that of a much-loved country house through which many generations have passed and left their mark. At almost every turn it holds surprises to delight the eyes, layered with love over the years. A fountain here, a sculpture there, rare specimen trees & shrubs in magnificent maturity, chickens scratching in the organic vegetable gardens. Shady vistas down woodland paths, views over orange groves and across meadows scented with wild fennel will take your breath away. It truly will be a place to get away with God and find new inspiration.HOW TO REGISTER ONLINE You can register for Retreat 2008 online. Labels: Upcoming Events Tuesday, August 5, 2008Inside Worship Podcast 3: Chris Lizotte - "Glory To The King"![]() This month's "Inside Worship" podcast from Vineyard Music features a great new song by Chris Lizotte titled "Glory To The King" that was released on the recent Club Vineyard CD "Brighter Day". Here's the intro from Inside Worship: Episode three (tres for those keeping count "en espnol") begins with Casey and Robbie discussing what it means to ask for God to be present in our gathered worship times and how that can affect the language of our songs. In addition to this, Casey and Robbie discuss the altitude of today's featured worship leader, Chris Lizotte (he's really tall). Jason Hagen from Vineyard Music's California office sits down with Chris to discuss this episode's featured song "Glory To The King" as well as Chris's thoughts on worship and worship leading. Chris is a veteran worship leader from Laguna Niguel, California and has much insight to share with us. Go to Inside Worship Podcast Page Labels: Vineyard Music |
